Mercury sells more four-stroke engines than anyone else, and our Four-Stroke technology exceeds EPA emissions standards for 2008.  We also offer more California Air Resources Board (CARB) three-star ultra-low emissions-rated outboards than any other manufacturer, while our OptiMax line sets the standard for two-stroke outboard emissions.  Mercury was the first company to offer direct fuel injection that met the CARB three-star ultra-low emissions rating with our 75, 90, 115 and 135 hp Optimax outboards, not to mention our 225 Pro XS.
